My name is Akshita Gandra, and I am the founder and president of The REVIVAL Zine.
Why did you found The REVIVAL Zine?
The reason I’m so passionate about feminism and social justice is because since junior year of high school, I started finding out about all these misogynistic institutions in society and how much of that is internalized. When I came to college I didn’t see that there was really outlet for all these voices, not just for women but for all marginalized populations. That’s really the definition of intersectional feminism. So that’s why I started this and why we’re expanding across the US, recruiting new people, and accepting all inclusive submissions. So it’s really to give young people their voices back.
REVIVAL launches this quarter with the simple goal of encouraging you — our readers, fellow students, and creative human minds — to broaden your perspectives while sharing your thoughts and using your voice.
